“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson
Having the right team in place to serve you, our valued clients, is of paramount importance to us. This month we get to know Lucy McKenzie-Brown, why she wanted to be part of the UNIQ family, her goals and aspirations and what keeps her busy outside of work.
Client Relationship Manager (CRM), how did that happen?
Originally, I came to UNIQ under the Professional Support role, however due to staff changes I covered the role of CRM. Approaching the end of my probation period I was asked if I would like to fully take on the role of CRM as it was felt that I was more of a “people’s person” than a number cruncher. Marlene was happy with my commitment to covering this role.
What drew you to UNIQ?
I wanted to challenge myself with learning something new, but also being able to apply the foundation of customer service to another role. UNIQ encompassed all of these things.
What keeps you smiling at work every day?
Professionally, it’s nice to see how the cascading of wealth can look after generations to come when managed correctly. Personally, I think we have a fantastic team that are always willing to help one another, no matter what.
What are you saving for?
As an avid off-roader and Land Rover lover, my partner and I are saving for a coastal drive to and around Scotland, visiting the Isles. The vehicle and trailer are almost overland ready, so hoping to do this in 2020.
When you’re not at UNIQ what keeps you busy?
Being a member of the South Wales Land Rover Club and getting involved with courses.
I enjoy participating in being part of a team that at various churches provide food banks for all individuals who need this help.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
I would have to say to grab every opportunity that comes your way, your young enough to learn from them if you make the wrong choice.
Finally, what goals are you working towards?
I would like to further my knowledge in the world of finance and accomplish a qualification relevant to my role.
