Meet The Team
The UK’s top Financial Planners, technical experts and support staff.
Founder & Managing Director
Qualifications: MSc(Econ) Certified Financial Planner, Chartered FCSI, Qualified Pension Specialist, Chartered Wealth Manager
I founded UNIQ Family Wealth, with a distinct family focus, drawing on my experience of owning a Financial Planning practice for 17 years. “It’s difficult to advise individuals in isolation; family issues, succession and cascading wealth often need to be addressed. It made sense to create a firm to provide such a service.”
In my spare time I enjoy being with my growing family, dance, music, skiing and entertaining.
Director of Operations
Qualifications: ILM Level 5 in Leadership & Management | Currently studying towards Level 7 in Leadership & Management | IOSH
I have worked within the Financial Services industry for almost four years and have over 11 years’ experience in management. Within my role I oversee the general smooth running of the office ensuring we provide a seamless service end to end. Human Resources is a big part of my role.
I am a busy working mum and enjoy quality time with family and socialising with friends.
Following a career immersed in Financial Services and Marketing at Lloyds, AXA Wealth and the Bath Executive MBA scheme – I have built specialist expertise and a strong reputation for my marketing work in the financial sector.
I enjoy helping create great marketing so that more people engage with their money.
Carrie Garrett DipPFS MCSI
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Psychology, Diploma in Financial Planning, Certificate in Mortgage Advice, Certificate in Life and Pension, Certificate in Financial Planning
Having initially studied Psychology, I have worked in financial services for almost 15 years offering high quality, friendly and comprehensive financial planning. My career started in banking, then I worked with Prudential before joining UNIQ Family Wealth.
As the proud mum of a keen sporting child, I spend a lot of time standing in a field cheering loudly for him. I enjoy yoga, travelling, cooking and I also volunteer with Guide Dogs Cymru.
Qualifications: Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, Qualified Pension Specialist
I have worked in financial services for over 25 years in various roles including financial adviser, training and competence manager, life office consultant, sales manager and compliance officer, all of which have helped to build the knowledge and experience that now bring to UNIQ Family Wealth as a paraplanner.
In my spare time I am an Explorer Scout leader, which keeps me very busy. Scouting gets me outdoors a lot, but I also enjoy camping and bush craft together with my wife. If you are a fan of the TV quiz show Pointless, I was on the pilot series and went on to win, so I am the proud owner of a Pointless trophy!
Group Accounts Manager
Qualifications: Currently studying for Level 2 AAT
Following ten years working in Income and Credit Control, joining UNIQ and the Financial Services industry is a new challenge for me. My role focuses on the number work, including reporting and commission reconciliation, which is where my strengths lie.
In my spare time, I enjoy days out with my husband and son, cooking and going to see live music.
Client Services Manager
Qualifications: CIFA 1, 2 & 3, CeMAP
I have worked in the Financial Services industry for the last 27 years, the last 15 as a Mortgage and Protection Advisor. As well as providing professional financial advice, customer service has always been of utmost importance in my role. The experience I have gained from the industry has given me a passion for providing customer excellence and I am proud to bring this quality to UNIQ.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, socialise with friends, attend musical and theatre events, and sing with my choir.
Client Relationship Manager
I joined the Financial Services industry three years ago, after spending 10 years as an estate agent. I became a Client Relationship Manager for UNIQ Family Wealth in July 2020. The transition has been interesting and challenging at times, but the role is most enjoyable. It enables me to communicate with our clients on a regular basis and this is an aspect of the role which is most rewarding. I work alongside Paula to ensure clients are given a thorough and smooth service at UNIQ.
In my spare time I enjoy taking city breaks with my husband and spend a lot of time walking my dog in the Welsh countryside.
Qualifications: Working towards becoming a Level 4 Qualified Paraplanner
I joined the Financial Services Industry almost four years ago after leaving Hospitality work and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences so far. Whilst currently employed in an administrative role, I am working towards becoming a Level 4 Qualified Paraplanner and am undertaking some of the responsibilities of a trainee Paraplanner on a daily basis to gain more experience in the role. What I am enjoying most so far is ensuring that all clients’ investments transition as smoothly as possible during transfer, and liaising with both clients and providers during this time.
Outside of work I am active mum and I enjoy weekends with my daughter, as well as keeping physically fit by bouldering, hiking or getting to the gym.
Qualifications: Studying Business Management at Swansea University
Joining UNIQ has provided me with my first experience in financial services and has allowed me to develop my knowledge of the industry. My role focuses on the more numerical side of things, including valuations, reconciling, and reporting. These are areas that are directly relevant to my course as they are an area of interest for me.
My spare time is often allocated to operations with the Wales University Officer Training Corps. I also enjoy spending time with my housemates, often playing football or watching Star Wars.
