We are delighted to welcome Ian Else to join Sally and Sandra in our Bristol office.
Ian joins us as Senior Financial Planner and Director, from Bristol based financial planning firm Ovation Finance, where he spent five years. Ian recently realised it was time for a new challenge – in more ways than one.
Ian’s qualifications include a Diploma in Financial Planning, Pension Specialist and Certificate in coaching. Ian was initially struck by our unrelenting purpose of helping you, our valued clients to achieve a ‘Life well lived’. ‘As a planner, nothing gives me greater pleasure than supporting my clients in reaching their goals and seeing them enjoy the fruits of their labour’.
However, our purpose of ‘Life well lived’ doesn’t end with just our clients in mind.
At UNIQ, we feel strongly about supporting our team members to challenge, push and develop themselves continuously.
Ian certainly has pushed the boundaries and joins us with a personal challenge with a difference planned for December 2021. A year ago, Ian was inspired by a conversation with a client and now the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2021 awaits. Setting off from the Canary Islands, Ian and his challenge partner will be rowing across the Atlantic in aid of a well deserving charity.
We will share more details of Ian’s challenge as his training progresses.
Now, whilst Ian has never set foot in a rowing vessel before, he is no stranger to the open seas. Ian spent six years sailing professionally based in Southampton and St Lucia before a change in career direction and entering the world of financial services.
Marlene Outrim, UNIQ Family Wealth Managing Director, has been nothing but enthusiastic in supporting Ian’s future endeavours. She acknowledges the 14 weeks away from the office as practising what we preach. As one of Ian’s goals we’re more than happy to support him in this exciting adventure which is sure to raise much money for charity.
Whilst on solid ground, during the week, Ian spends one day at the Cardiff office, with the rest of the week in Bristol with his team.
He enjoys cycling, spending time with his partner and when the sun shines dreams of being back on the water.
