Boomers: Redefining Retirement
Retirement? Not for me, thank you, I’m far too busy!
Love your life? Consider yourself fit and healthy (with the grey matter perfectly intact), heading towards retirement age, with little planning?
Introducing Boomers: Redefining Retirement.
“If you want to ensure a happy and healthy retirement and one that will empower you to be active and purposeful, this is the book for you. Marlene spells out the way you can get the most out of this important stage of your life and how you can plan financially to make sure you have enough money to maintain your desired lifestyle.’’ Paul Etheridge, Founder and Chairman of the Prestwood Group.
Marlene Outrim, Founder and Managing Director of UNIQ Family Wealth, has been advising people for many years on how they can achieve their life and financial goals by planning effectively for their future. But now it seems, we are no longer a generation who are looking forward to pipe and slippers, or are relieved to be reaching the end of our working life.
Boomers: Redefining Retirement showcases (not only on the vibrant front cover) examples of inspiring 60, 70, 80, even 90 something year olds who are starting to really live their lives when they should, in theory, be slowing down.
Nick Cann, former CEO of the Institute of Financial Planning says “This is a very interesting read, positive, full of practical tips and ideas, as well as useful information. It will act as an inspiration for your retirement. For those moving on to this next stage of their life or already in it, this is a book I would strongly recommend.”
The official book launch will be held at the Off the Wall art gallery, Cardiff, on International Women’s Day(#pressforprogress) – 8th March 2018 from 4-6pm with afternoon refreshments. Get your ticket here.
The author, Marlene Outrim will be there to sign copies and discuss the book.
Boomers: Redefining Retirement is available to buy on Amazon.co.uk for £14.99 here.
Additional Information
The author Marlene Outrim:
About the Author: Like many advisers, Marlene’s first job was not in financial services. After a dalliance with accountancy, she preferred to work with people than numbers. She qualified and worked as a probation officer for South Glamorgan for 13 years. She is experienced in family group work and counselling. With the Probation Service changing, she was anxious for a change and preferably as her own boss. Financial services seemed to fit her qualifications.
Since then she has worked in financial services for over 28 years and established her first Financial Planning practice in 1991, selling it in 2007. Working as a Financial Planner for the new business for 5 years, she left when it was about to be sold, and as many of her clients missed her, she started UNIQ Family Wealth in July 2013, with its focus on families. “It is inevitable, that even though you start working with an individual or a couple, the discussion soon leads to other family members. It is difficult to help people plan their lifestyles in isolation of them”.
Marlene has always believed in a business that was professional and personal with an emphasis on the relationship. She has helped many people, over the years, redefine their retirement and ensure that they could have a ‘Life Well Lived’ and get the most out of their later years.
